The tour will begin after you meet your private lovely driver who will be easily recognizable due to the sign on which will be written your name and our agency logo at the Central Train station of Naples called Napoli Centrale . After a brief presentation your private driver will accompany you at the luxurious vehicle where and will offer you every comfort you need. Furthermore he will give you important information about the day tour and the places that you are going to visit. Finally, let's get started your dream Private Tour !

You will be driven to Ravello (it will be your first stop) by a special and secret route (no traffic). It is called the Milky Mountains route. It will take you through the countryside of this lovely region called "Campania" and it will give you the opportunity to be immerged in the nature of one of the most beautiful national park of the country. This twisty road will allow you to see one of the most unique shot of the famous volcano called Mount Vesuvius from an altitude of 2800 feet. Our driver will be happy to stop in one of the panoramic terrace where you will be able to take incredible pics of you and your family. You will be enjoying the countryside view , the chestnuts trees area, you will have the chance (if you are lucky) to see some goats herd on the way and much more.

You will find yourselves driving up to Ravello early in the morning (less tourists in the town), famous for its nature and for the Villas like Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, whose gardens are full of different kind of flowers, plants and trees, especially lemon and orange trees for whom the coast is famous. The driver will wait for you for about one hour before leaving.Villa Rufolo sits on a ledge that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, thanks, in large part, to the inspiration it provided Giovanni Boccaccio in his Decameron and as the location where Richard Wagner composed the second act of his opera “Parsifal” in 1880.Each summer since 1953 the “Ravello Festival” has honored Wagner with concerts held on the dramatic Villa Rufolo stage overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

At this point it’s time for a nice lunch, trust our staff and you will enjoy a incredible meal made by local ingredients, such as seafood and handmade fresh pasta. Alternatively you can have a pizza or a panino, something quicker but equally delicious. Stopping for lunch will be according to your needs and your time.

On the way to Pompeii, we will drive by Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano responsible for one of the most famous historical events in Italy. The old city of Pompeii is located at the base of the Vesuvius and was flourish during the Period of the Roman Empire. After the eruptions of the Volcano in 79 B.C the city has been destroyed and covered by ashes and lapillus. The Archeological dig started in 1748 and in three centuries only 3/5 part of the city has been discovered. Now the city has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO and 3.750.000 tourists each year come to visit it.

Before leaving your private driver please agree upon the time to leave. Then the driver will recommend a suitable time to get back to Naples train station (Napoli Centrale) after this lovely day!

  • “Starting this year, access to Pompeii will be limited and all tickets will be nominative with ID. Therefore, we advise anyone planning to visit the ruins to purchase tickets online in advance (you'll see the link in our quote email), as they will be available one month before the tour date”

General Informations

All our drivers have been trained to give a tour along the route as you are driven to your destinations, however due to strict Italian laws regulating and protecting licensed tour guides our drivers cannot do this outside of the vehicle, in the towns, sites and museums.

In the very rare event that there is an internal assembly or strike in Pompeii, unfortunately they usually do not advise of this in advance.

Kid Friendly: YES (This tour is suitable for children as long as they are supervised by a parent).

Please , comunicate the age of kids up to 6 years old in order to provide a baby car seat.

We reserve the right to change the order in which we visit the sites.

Passengers with a Reduced Mobility (PRM) Friendly : YES (you must enjoy walking short distances and be able to get in and out of minivan and minibus).

PICK UP/DROP OFF POINT: Naples Train Station (Napoli Centrale) You can use the fast train called Trenitalia from Rome (Roma Termini) train station to Naples (Napoli Centrale ) that takes 1 hour and 10 mins and one of our driver will pick you up at the end of your train track. In this way you can save money on the cost of the tour and time. You can book in advance the tickets of the train to arrive to Naples and to go back to Rome on the Trenitalia website

I have been to Europe a few times and can honestly say that Amalfi Coast Tours offer the best service by far. Thanks to Gio and the team our stay on Amalfi Coast was the most memorable part our Italia trip. The knowledge and history shared was first class, we had lots of laughs on our travels and I was even serenaded in Italiano which brought me to tears. We were picked up from Naples train station, visited Mt Vesuvius, toured the coast line and dropped off to Positano in paradise for a 3 night stay. When we were ready, we were picked up again and had an amazing drive to the Tivoli Gardens and then our final destination in Rome. I highly recommend having the team drive you to wherever you need to go, believe me, it will be fun and full of adventure. My family and I will definitely be back on the Amalfi Coast and can’t wait to see Gio and the team again.

This is now my third tour with Gio Lovely tours this summer. My partner and I had another amazing day with Gio seeing more sights of the Amalfi coast. I had the WONDERFUL good fortune of touring the indescribable Amalfi Coast with Gio in October 2015, along with my friend Anna. Gio is warm and friendly, and handsome to boot! His knowledge of the history and current events of the area is amazing, and our tour was as much fun while we were in the van with him as were the visits to restaurants and shops.
