The tour will begin after you meet your private driver who will be easily recognizable due to the sign on which will be written your name and our agency logo at the port where your cruise ship will be docked. After a brief presentation your private driver will accompany you at the luxurious vehicle where and will offer you every comfort you need. Furthermore he will give you important information about the travel and the places that you are going to visit. Finally, let's get started your dream Private Tour !
You will be driven to Ravello (it will be your first stop) by a special and secret route (no traffic). It is called the Milky Mountains route. It will take you through the countryside of this lovely region called "Campania" and it will give you the opportunity to be immerged in the nature of one of the most beautiful national park of the country. This twisty road will allow you to see one of the most unique shot of the famous volcano called Mount Vesuvius from an altitude of 2800 feet. Our driver will be happy to stop in one of the panoramic terrace where you will be able to take incredible pics of you and your family. You will be enjoying the countryside view , the chestnuts trees area, you will have the chance (if you are lucky) to see some goats herd on the way and much more.
You will find yourselves driving up to Ravello early in the morning (less tourists in the town), famous for its nature and for the Villas like Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, whose gardens are full of different kind of flowers, plants and trees, especially lemon and orange trees for whom the coast is famous. The driver will wait for you for about one hour before leaving.Villa Rufolo sits on a ledge that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, thanks, in large part, to the inspiration it provided Giovanni Boccaccio in his Decameron and as the location where Richard Wagner composed the second act of his opera “Parsifal” in 1880.Each summer since 1953 the “Ravello Festival” has honored Wagner with concerts held on the dramatic Villa Rufolo stage overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Later on, we are going to reach the amazing Mt.Vesuvius for another kind of experience. Thank to its particular climate, the warm soil, its unique florae, the area is amazingly fertile and full of vineyards which produce incredible wines exported in all the world. With this tour you can arrange a visit to the best winery of the region, and probably of the world. The tour will include tasting of wines as “Lachrimae Christi” or “Capafresca” along with an amazing Italian light lunch made with local ingredients
The eruption of the Vesuvius, that destroyed Pompeii, hit the city of Herculaneum too with a huge tsunami of dirt and lava. But unlike Pompeii, the city of Herculaneum preserved wooden buildings and any sort of goods. Therefore for archeological studies is a very important site. Sculptures, paints, vases and so on are now in the “Archeological Museum of Naples” and in the “Antiquarium”.Ancient tradition connected Herculaneum with the name of the Greek hero Heracles, an indication that the city was of Greek origin. There is, however, historical evidence that toward the end of the 6th century BC a primitive nucleus of Oscan-speaking inhabitants came under Greek hegemony there and that in the 4th century BC Herculaneum came under the domination of the Samnites. The city became a Roman municipium in 89 BC, when, having participated in the Social War (“war of the allies” against Rome), it was defeated by Titus Didius, a legate of Lucius Cornelius Sulla.
Before leaving your private driver please agree upon the time to leave in order to reach your cruise ship on time. During the ride to the port, you can reminisce about your lovely day mixed with ancient Roman history and the present day beauty of one of the most famous coastlines in the world!
